LOL! I added your name last night because I knew you'd want to start with

us, but I knew you said you'd be starting about a week later, but wasn't

sure of the date!!! I'll take one off. Would you like to be a or

Corky?

I have humongous thirst, too......but I don't have diabetes. It does run in

my family to an extent, though - so I guess it could be a warning of later.

That kind of thirst is definitely a symptom of diabetes and worth getting

checked out.

Actually it helps me to feel less guilty....

I am managing around 2 good days for every " bad " one. Not really

bad....but not under 100 carbs.

Shortbread, gingerbread, gravy, potatoes....

I am avoiding highly sweet things like icing and glazed stuff like yams.

I am avoiding bread, and eating as much protein as I can...before dessert.

I was at a co-op potluck last night (I live in a co-op) and the turkey went

fast. There was a roast too... and lasagna (which I didn't try) and three

potato dishes (scalloped, salad, mashed), stuffing (which I had to try),

and a ton of different desserts.

It's funny that after being off sugar, I can't even taste the flavour of

some things because they are overpowered by the sugar. I took a piece of

ginger bread house..but it was gross...

As usual all the drinks were either alcoholic or sweetened pop. I brought

two cans of diet coke...someone swiped one of them.

Yes. I hope to stay under 30 carbs for the whole month of January. (ummm

well, starting on the 4th LOL) There are open houses on New Year's

Day...and it is so rare that I go anywhere.

My weight is hovering around the 143lb mark....no lower than 142.5 and no

higher than 144.5.

So technically I have gained up to 3.5 lbs....I am not going to let it go

over 5lbs.

- BTW, I have to agree with you. There are so many no-no foods that I

can't even taste anymore. Low-carb does something to your taste buds. Even

after being technically off low-carb for a year - I still can't taste really

sweet stuff. I seem to eat it all anyway, though.
