Guest guest Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 You are absolutely correct. Thanks for bringing this out, . Our bodies can NOT make progesterone from yams! Wild yam cream is NOT progesterone! It contains phytoestrogens, which " may " increase the body's production, but it is NOT a hormone or a precursor to a hormone. In other words, you are NOT replacing progesterone by using a wild yam cream. So be careful on some of the other list that " push " products where they make a percent of the money. It was all a pyramid scam! I couldn't deal with the way she was deceiving women that needed true help for her selfish gain! I also just learned, from SS book, my SEVERE cramping all my life from periods is from the lack of progesterone. I didn't know that. I delete by subject so please change the subject line. I can't read all my list mail, unfortunately. Thanks, Kat www.daystarshowdogs.com Re: Ageless, Suzanne Sommer's new book It depends on what you're looking for from the yam. If you're wanting Progesterone, then our bodies don't have the ability to extract the Progesterone from the yam. So to speak. It's not exactly Progesterone in there but a precursor form of the hormone that has to be extracted and then just a bit altered in a lab by a molecule or two (or something along those lines), but then is bioidentical to what we make in our own bodies. That's why whenever you get any over the counter Progesterone or buy it online make sure it always says *USP* Progesterone and/or that it's extracted or derived from yam. Not just " includes " yam or just names yam as an ingredient, cause we can't do anything with it that way. If you're looking for something else besides Progesterone from the yam, maybe someone else can answer that because that's about the extent of my knowledge about female hormones and yams. --- Ken & Jackie Reimer wrote: > UGH, now I'm bummed I wasted $15.00! > > I did have Dr. Lee's book and even saw him speak in > AZ in 2002.
