108 sounds good! I can't imagine what you're going through having to watch your

blood sugar like a hawk!!! Geez... It's a full-time job on top of everything

else!

Try to take heart that you're not gaining. You've got that part of your body's

insufficiencies treated properly.

was a quite nice 108 when I go tup, but I am

did well yesterday dosing for meals but I am still not eating enough! I

SHOULD be droppong weight like crazy but I am not. Not losing much at

all in fatc and that worrie me.

okay...thanks for letting me know all of this. I'm so glad you are covering all

of the bases, Val. You are a very important part of many people's lives and we

all just want to be sure we're looking out after you the best way we can.

Val, I don't know how you do it all. It is all science, and I never

did well in that subject. I seem to keep getting more and more

confused just with iodine and Armour, I can't imagine trying to

balance insulin as well. You do so much for everyone else, maybe

your next mission will be to help folks with insulin issues.

I hope your feeling better. I missed wishing you a happy birthday,

so... HAPPY BIRTHDAY.... late :)

Val - couple of questions? Do you have a cell phone (assuming you

don't have coverage problems out your way)? How about one of those

medic-alert panic buttons (in case you can't get to or dial the

phone)? Could you get one with two transmitters - one for home & one

at work?

As you are alone so much, these tools can be life-savers when you

need to get some immediate medical help.

Just some ideas,

the roads were icy, but that should have raised my glucose not

dumped it. No I didn;t faint, or I wouldn't be here. As usual I was

alone and with no one due in the dshop for at least an hour.

WAYY too early! But I have some good news~ ! It appears that my pancreas

is coming back to life! I ate two meals yesterday withotu needing ANY of

the bolus insulin! Had an all day high of 159 and this AM am 95 again! .

I am cutting the Lantus back more this AM as My coach doesn't want me

this low in the mornings. And I wzs right, son=mething DID change, my

pancreas seesm to be giving it the all time effort to come back. I will

still need the basal insulin btu less of it, so this is great news!

Good morning Val

Sounds a bit like the mystery virus I had a little while back..........

Will get on the case wtih the temps. again this week and wanted to say that

strange things have started to happen again............ both of these

situations have happened in the not too distan past i.e.

I have developed a HUGE appetite. For instance had a big protein-based

breakfast at 8.30 am and found myself ravenous again at 10 a.m. for ate a second

breakfast!

Also the weeing problem has started up again, running to the loo all the

time and it is now disrupting my sleep again big-time which means I am not

getting enough sleep which means I am permanently exhausted.

So it is hard to see any progress with the one grain Armour increase and the

h/c increase with this going on. One step forwards and five back kind of

thing.........

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Yes Val, I have felt my lower legs feeling the skin is too tight if you know

what I mean. Though they are SO fat anyway I cannot say I could actually

notice them looking larger.

And yes the rings on my fingers are too tight and leave marks so let's hope

you are right and this is what is happening.

I had a VERY BIG weeing problem a couple of months ago if you remember?

Trouble was it went on for months........

Watch and wait sounds like good advice to me.

thanks Val.

Yes ther is good weeing to remove the excess fluids then there is just

plain old too much which leaves you dehydrated and exhausted! I know

since getting my sugar under better control I am not only not weeing

nearly as much but not drinking like I was either. Do you have a glucose

meter? This would be a good idea to get one as that can be from hugh

glucose as well which makes you thirsty and then you wee your brains out

like I was! LOL

Hi

Val

The odd thing is that even when I was weeing for Olympic Gold for Ireland I

was not particularly thirsty! Odd huh?

And when I did that 24-hr thyroid urine test as per Hertoghe I produced 4

lites of urine in the 24 hour period whereas most people produce half of that.

Odd.

What is a glucose meter? Oh I think I know - one of those things that you

use to check strips with droplets of blood from finger-pricking. Hah! You just

want me to suffer pin-cushion fingers with you :)

Well you know that I do have concerns about my blood sugar so maybe I should

check this out. It's expensive?
