Guest guest
Hello All: Well, as you know I am scheduled for my LAP/HYST on Thursday which was " supposed to be " immediately after my period. Well, today is Day 40 and still no period despite period-like symptoms last week and cramping as well....(and a negative pregnancy test)so I'm pretty sure I have scarred again! WHY?!! I discussed this with Dr. Valle and he said that if I was having " regular " periods he would postpone the surgery until after I had one because any significant build-up of endometrium would make it hard for him to see during surgery..... But after discussing it we decided to go-ahead on Thursday seeing as March was my first " real " period (other than spotting) I had had since October of last year so we don't yet know whether my cycles are regular or what " regular " even is for me. Also, seeing as it has now been 40 days since my last cycle and I had " cyclic pain " last week this indicates it is possible that I " back bled " then if my cervix is indeed scarred closed again. We didn't discuss this, but I have been thinking that whether I am scarred again or not doesn't really matter in terms of surgery because either way I won't have much endometrium " build-up " . If I am scarred again and thus " back bled " last week I will have no significant endometrium on Thursday OR, if I never ovulated this month for some reason I STILL would not have any real significant endometrium because without the " progesterone trigger " of ovulation the endometrium doesn't get all " fluffy " and engorged as we have discussed before. So either way I don't think this will be a hinderance to surgery, at least I hope not and Dr. Valle didn't seem to worried about it. So, we are going ahead on Thursday with the LAP/HYST and we'll see what he finds. If I do start a period between now and Thursday I am supposed to let him know. We will also do another pregnancy test beforehand just to be sure (although at this point it would be nothing less than immaculate conception!) I also discussed with him the " saline infusion " problem my last doctor was concerned about during surgery and Dr. Valle once again said he couldn't understand why he had told me that saying that saline was very safe and that the risk of saline intoxication was almost nill. He did mention that there were other methods that he used as well so I'm still not sure what he will use on me, we'll find out on Thursday I guess. That's all the update I have for now. Wish Thursday would hurry-up and get here! Gwen
