HC dosing

is it absolutely essential to wait 4 hours between hc doses? I'm not

talking about the need to stress dose

This morning I took 10mg at 6.30 but by 10am I started to feel very

weak, legs felt shakey. I hadn't had any stress so I wanted to wait

until 10.30 to take the next dose because I think maybe taking 10mg

first thing and then another 7.5mg after 3 1/2 hours might be too

close together.

Eventually I took the next dose at 10.15 and within 15 minutes I felt

fine

Lynda, For me it is a MUST to get my 10mg HC in me as early as possible. If

I happen to wake up at 4am, I take it. I feel my best if I can do this and " if "

I can get back to sleep. Then I wake up more alert. For my 2nd 10mg dose I

feel best taking it after 3 or 3.5 hours, then I wait until 4 hours for the 3rd

5mg dose. I can only take my 4th, 5mg dose if I get my HC (Cortef) taken by

around 4pm, or I can not get to sleep that night until very late. I have a lot

of sleep problems as it is.

This is what works best for me, for now anyway.

If it were me i would take an extra 20MG HC right now. and for the next

2 days if needed.

thanks, so are you able to take h/c without food? I always have

breakfast first because I have problems with reflux/heartburn

how long have you been on h/c? If missing the morning dose had no

detrimental effect you may be able to do without the morning dose.

In any case I would skip that dose today

I don't know about the dosing, but go out and buy a small pill box...I use a tin

from some mints my hubby bought...and keep a supply of HC, etc. with you at all

times. You'll need this if you ever run into an emergency where you're stressed

anyway hon.

I had my " lunch pills " and my afternoon pills with me, so I just bumped up. I

think I'll start carrying my weekly pill holder for armour and HC. It's a

little one with the daily boxes.

I take my Isocort at 9, 1 & 5. In the evening I take 30 drops of

tincture of licorice root as a tea in hot water. I find if I take an

evening dose of Isocort, I'm up all night too. But the licorice seems

to help my body make the best of its cortisol without keeping me up.

When I don't take it, I sometimes revert back to waking at 4am. With

it, I don't seem to have that problem. I'm still tracking this trend

though.
