Guest guest
Dear Forum Thank you Dr Bobby for your deliberation on the very crucial issue of HIV and TB which is not readily discussed by the HIV professionals due to some reason or other. I wrote a mail on the same subject quoting my experience of participating the HIV TB conference of AIIMS in New Delhi and also my programmatic exposure in HIV-TB coordination in one of cities in UP. Unfortunately the response from the forum to the mail was hardly nothing. NACO is already in the process of HIV TB coordination through developing strategic linkages between VCTC and TB Microscopy Centre with the financial assistance of GFATM and technical support of WHO. In Phase I of the programme, coordination started initially in the six states with high prevalence of HIV/AIDS i.e. Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Manipur and Nagaland. Phase II of the programme has been extended to eight additional States of Delhi, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan and West Bengal. This is for the kind information of the forum.
