Guest guest
Good morning, My blood sugar reading for this morning was 145. For breakfast I ate one piece of colby cheese and a cup of crystal light, and 1 cup of coffee with 1 tsp. of cream and 2 packages of splenda. I don't know how much I'll be in here today posting because we're supposed to get storms today so I won't have the computer on then. I'm keeping track of the readings and will let you all know what they are when I can use the computer again, Have a good day. Terri.
Guest guest
Hi Terri. Let me suggest to write all your results down in a text file or word document so you can print it and show your doctor the results next visit. This way, he and you can study the pattern of your two hour post meal test with 30 grams of carbs at each meal to determine if your medication needs increased. So, maybe keep this in your log such as... date, time, carbs ate, pre meal, post meal Saturday, Aug 20 2005 Breakfast: 7:30 am pre meal 146 ate 30 grams of carbs: 2 slices of bread, 2 eggs two hour post 125 Lunch 1:00 pm pre meal 122 ate 15 grams of carbs: 1 slice of bread, turkey, salad two hour post 119 Dinner 6:30 pm pre meal 80 ate 30 grams of carbs: 1 roll, 1 8 ounse steak, salad two hour post 149 and so on. This way, you have it in a log file that you can track patterns yourself, which foods effect you how, and share this with your doctor. I always enjoyed tracking my body to see what it was doing grin. keep us updated... Pre breakfast reading for today August 20. Good morning, My blood sugar reading for this morning was 145. Guest guest
Let me suggest that an Excel file could also be used for the compilation of data. I use an Excel file as I like using columns to separate data and I find it easier to move around quickly. My column titles are: month, date, meal, food, carbs, blood sugar reading, insulin dosage, restaurant, and comments. I total the carbs for each meal and then enter the rest of the data on the total row. Other columns can be easily added as needed. I also like Excel because I can perform mathematical calculations on the carb totals and blood sugar readings. You can print the Excel file in landscape mode for your doctor if you so desire.
