Job Opportunities for Tamil Nadu Comprehensive Care and Treatment Programme for

HIV Positive Families in India

Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) has awarded funding to Tamil Nadu

AIDS Control Society (TANSACS) to expand antiretroviral treatment to 1000

parents/family members and care and support (including nutrition support) to

4000 parents/family members of HIV infected and affected children to prevent

children being orphaned in the State of Tamil Nadu.

SAATHII (Solidarity and Action Against the HIV Infection in India) has been

awarded funding to provide technical, operational and logistical assistance to

the TANSACS and implementing partners in setting up the project.

The Tamilnadu ARV program is implementing three family-centred continuum of care

and ARV treatment programs through existing government services in equal

partnership with NGOs, CBOs and Positive Networks to provide a comprehensive

range of HIV/AIDS care, support and treatment services including voluntary

testing and counselling, routine medical care, routine HIV care, diagnosis and

treatment of opportunistic infections, provision of antiretroviral treatment by

trained clinicians, counselling for treatment preparedness and literacy,

provision of psycho-social services, nutrition services and adherence

counselling, out reach, home care linkages to income generating activities,

legal services and housing.

This program is being implemented at Government Kilpak Medical College Hospital,

Chennai, Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical college Hospital and Salem

Government Medical college Hospital, Tirunelveli. These three programs are

catering to families from their respective surrounding districts.

SAATHII has the following openings that need to be filled immediately.

1. TRAINING OFFICER (Full Time) (Job Code: CHEN-CIFF-TO-0306)

Responsibilities:

· Responsible for all activities related to training of TNFCC program

including doctors, nurses, counselors, pharmacists, nutritionists, out reach

workers, program coordinators and accountants.

· Some of these activities include but are not limited to:

o Developing a detailed training calendar based on needs assessment.

o Development of training tools and manuals.

o Ongoing needs assessment of various TNFCC clinical and non-clinical staff.

o Curriculum and lesson plan development on various clinical and

non-clinical issues of care, support and treatment in collaboration with

resource persons.

o Budget estimation for various aspects of training.

o Evaluation of training sessions.

o Preparation of training reports.

o Implementation of training programs.

o Develop and implement train the trainer programs.

o Observes and appraises NGO staff performance, provides feedback and

facilitates improvements in accordance with established standards of

operations and performance.

o Implements on-site mentorship programs as per the calendar.

o Assist in preparation of standard operating procedures and patient

education materials.

Qualifications & Experience

· Post graduate in social sciences/public health/development management or its

equivalent with a minimum of 5 years experience in the field of HIV/AIDS with

specific focus on care, support and treatment issues.

· Experience in coordinating training programs and technical assistance

programs.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Tamil are

critical.

· Excellent computer skills including MS office, excel, power point and use of

Internet.

· Proven ability to develop and maintain working relationship with partners from

the government, non-government and academic sectors.

· Ability to work in a large and diverse team.

Remuneration and Contract Period:

Remuneration will be dependant on qualifications and experience with maximum of

3.6 lakhs per year subject to negotiation with one-year contract that is

renewable.

2. DOCUMENTATION OFFICER/PROGRAM INFORMATION OFFICER

(Full Time) (Job Code: CHEN-CIFF-DO-0306)

Responsibilities

· Responsible for all activities related to content, information and report

management for TNFCC program including clinical, non-clinical and administrative

components.

· Development of required tools, formats, surveys for project

implementation, training and supportive monitoring.

· Development of standard operating procedures (SOP) for clinical,

non-clinical and administration components of TNFCC programs. Some of the areas

include but are not limited to:

o SOPs for HIV care, Pediatric Care, Family Care, counseling, home based care,

support groups, peer education, adherence

o SOPs for administrative processes, accounting processes, programmatic issues

etc.

· Development of SOPs will include but are not limited to needs assessment of

various TNFCC clinical and non-clinical components, development of guidelines

and processes for preparation of SOPs, identification of technical experts that

can assist with various components, coordination of writing by the technical

experts, coordination of review of SOPS, pilot testing, printing and

dissemination of SOPs.

· Coordination of best practice documentation of TNFCC program.

· Coordination of development of patient education materials for TNFCC program.

· Coordination of TNFCC electronic and print resource centre and sharing of

these resources with TNFCC partners.

· Preparation of technical reports related to TNFCC program.

· Oversee the formation and implementation of project level and

organizational level M & E indicators.

· Editing, translating documents from English to Tamil and Tamil to English.

Qualifications & Experience

· The candidate must be a post graduate in social science / public

health/development management or its equivalent with 5-10 years experience in

the field of HIV/AIDS with specific focus on care, support and treatment issues.

· Proven writing or documentation skills.

· Experience in developing standard operating procedures, clinical manuals,

operational manuals and patients education materials.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Tamil are

critical.

· Excellent computer skills including MS office, excel, power point and use of

Internet.

· Proven ability to develop and maintain working relationship with partners from

the government, non-government and academic sectors.

· Ability to work in a large and diverse team.

Remuneration

Remuneration is dependant on qualifications and experience, with a maximum of

4.8 lakhs subject to negotiation with one-year contract.

3. PROJECT OFFICER (Full Time) (Job Code: CHEN-CIFF-PO-0306)

Responsibilities

· Day to day coordination of all the logistics of technical assistance component

of TNFCC program.

· Obtain necessary approvals for various aspects of the project from

TANSACS.

· Coordination of travel, training and meeting logistics for Technical

assistance team.

· Preparation of minutes, letters and reports.

· Logistic support for meetings and training related to TNFCC program.

· Assistance with report compilation.

· Compilation of reports from various partners of TNFCC in coordination with

TANSACS.

· Participate and contribute in project planning and implementation.

· Facilitate timely and ongoing communication among all TNFCC partners.

· Provide support to visitors and volunteers of TNFCC programs

Qualifications & Experience

· Post graduate in social science / development management or its equivalent

with 3 years experience in a relevant position in the field of HIV/AIDS

· Outstanding oral and written communication skills in English.

· Excellent communication skills in Tamil.

· Excellent computer skills, including MS office, excel, power point and use of

internet.

· Proven ability to develop and maintain working relationship with partners from

the government, non-government and academic sectors.

· Ability to work in a large and diverse team.

Remuneration

Remuneration is dependant on qualifications and experience, with a minimum being

2.4 lakhs per year, subject to negotiation with one-year contract.

4. MONITORING OFFICER (Part time) (Job Code: CHEN-CIFF-MO-0306)

Responsibilities

· Develop tools for supportive monitoring visits.

· Provide supportive monitoring to TNFCC hospital and field NGO spanning across

12 districts.

· Assist with coordination and streamlining of clinical and non-clinical

services.

Qualifications & Experience

· The candidate must be a post graduate in social science / public

health/development management or its equivalent with 5-10 years experience in

the field of HIV/AIDS with specific focus on care, support and treatment issues.

· Proven monitoring and evaluation skills specifically NGO run care, support and

treatment programs.

· Proven documentation skills.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Tamil are

critical.

· Excellent computer skills including MS office, excel, power point and use of

Internet.

· Proven ability to develop and maintain working relationship with partners from

the government, non-government and academic sectors.

· Ability to work in a large and diverse team.

Remuneration is dependant on qualifications and experience.
