Besides the core " Intuitive Eating " book by Tribole and Elyse

Resch, which others have recommended, I also like " The Zen of Eating "

by Ronna Kabatznick. It's a Zen/Buddhist take on IE. It really added

to my understanding of IE in a way that other books didn't. A very

good approach to understanding and dealing with emotional eating from

a non-western, spiritual point of view.

Hi - Just need to recontribute the books that are really helping me in hopes they will give someone else the help and healing I am finding. 1) The Diet Survivors Guide - 60 lessons on Eating, Acceptance and Self-Care - Judith Matz & Ellen el 2) Beyond the Shadow of a Diet - A Therapist's Gude to Treating Compulsive Eating - Judith Matz & Ellen el 3) When Women Stop Hating Their Bodies - Carol Munter & Jane Hirschmann 4) Intuitive Eating - Tribole & ____ It's amazing to me how ingrained/flawed/misguided the whole diet mentality is. At first, I felt a lot of shame that I was so sucked in, but now I realize that because it's so pervasive culturally, I really didn't have a prayer. Thank goodness that's all changed now. Has anyone heard of the "YAY!" scale? It was designed by Marilyn Wann, a well-known body

acceptance activist and instead of numbers, it says things like "You're beautiful" "Happy girl", and other positive messages. My kind of scale!!! Peace, CW
