Interactive Session with Prof. Suzanne Crowe on Major health concerns: HIV and

Poor Nutrition

Prof. Suzanne Crowe, Head, AIDS Pathogenesis and Clinical Research Program,

NHMRC Principal Research Fellow, Macfarlane Burnet Institute for Medical

Research and Public Health, Australia would be in Mumbai on 6 April 2006.

Confederation of Indian Industry and Australia India Council are jointly

organizing an interactive session with Prof Crowe, who has kindly consented to

deliver talk on " How we can tackle two major health concerns: HIV and poor

nutrition? "

Professor Crowe will provide an overview to the programs that have recently been

conducted in India jointly by the CII and AIC. This includes, addressing the

Indian HIV epidemic, have provided training for doctors on the use of anti-HIV

drugs and training for laboratories on low cost tests to monitor individuals

with HIV infection. She would also discuss, a pilot program addressing maternal

and infant nutrition in a rural Indian district, which is now ready for

introduction into different parts of India.

This session will provide a right opportunity to reflect and interact on the

subject:
