Guest guest
Dear Forum I understand that a Govt testing facility in Andhra Pradesh has asked patients to pay Rs 500/- first if they ask for CD4 count testing. If the results show a value less than 200/- the money is refunded. If not the amount is forfeited. Is this NACO decision? Is the system trying to discourage the demand for CD4 testing? Even if there is undue pressure on the medical officers concerned for CD4 testing, there must be procedures worked out to tackle this. Many more would die if the testing facilities enforce this kind of restriction. As it is PLHAs are nervous to step into such facilities and face the wrath of the overburdened doctors there. Could someone enlighten me on this new procedure that is in place??
