Guest guest
I am lucky in that my wife is sighted and she does all of my fingersticks as well as reading the results on the glucose monitor. She also had a year of nursing training before she quit school and became a medical secretary. I am unlucky in that I am totally dependent on her to perform this function for me. Without her I would have to learn how to do glucose monitoring just like all of the other blind folks out there. blood sugar tests > > How did you folks learn how to take your blood sugar. > Was someone able to show you, > or did you do it by trial and trial. > > Thanks, > > > --Dar > --Every Saint has a Past, > > Every Sinner has a Future > > > > > > >
Guest guest
I hope your doctor or nurse has told you the most important glucose test to take. I would bet money that they have not told you the most important glucose monitor reading to know. So I will tell you, and you can inform your doctor or nurse that I said so, if you like. The most important glucose monitor reading is the two hour post prandial reading. This means two hours after you have eaten. If the test results is 120 or less you are good to go. If it is more than 120 you have eaten too many carbs, not taken the proper dose of medications, not exercised properly or you may have an injury or an infection or a combination of the above. A normal range for a two hour post prandial glucose reading should range between 70 and 120. If it is under 70, you will be suffering with a low glucose level and you probably need to take at least one or more glucose tablets depending on how low the reading is in order to bring you back to the normal range. Really, it is just that simple. While this is a simple fact, mastering the how to do it takes lots of trial and error and effort, which is not so simple. blood sugar tests > > How did you folks learn how to take your blood sugar. > Was someone able to show you, > or did you do it by trial and trial. > > Thanks, > > > --Dar > --Every Saint has a Past, > > Every Sinner has a Future > > > > > > >

Guest guest
I learned by trial and error-and listening to the tapes that come with the talking glucose meter. It does take practice however. What brand talking glucose meter are you getting? blood sugar tests How did you folks learn how to take your blood sugar. Was someone able to show you, or did you do it by trial and trial. Guest guest
Oh gosh I would have to look it up again. It is like all of you have though. But what I am concerned about is this, since I don't have one to take my sugars and they want me to start taking the sugar pill I want to make sure I know what on earth is happening. We were told today it is six hundred dollars and will fill out paper work next week to see if we can get this with help. But they want to look at income and on and on and on. I know it will take more than two weeks to get things off the ground. Then the rest that goes with kit costs seventy five dollars a month. Good grief. I know I am worth all of this to keep living, but it is unreal. --Dar --Every Saint has a Past, Every Sinner has a Future blood sugar tests > > > How did you folks learn how to take your blood sugar. > Was someone able to show you, > or did you do it by trial and trial. > > Thanks, > > > --Dar > --Every Saint has a Past, > > Every Sinner has a Future > > > > > > >

Guest guest
You know it is recommended for people in general to walk 10,000 steps a day to stay healthy. The pedometer is a device you ware and it calculates the steps you take throughout the day. I don't have one myself but it can be very useful. Guest guest
Montana, After you get used to taking your blood sample it is not all that big a deal to do. It would only take you about two or so minutes to get the sample and have the meter tell you the results. Crystal just steps into the ladies room and goes " whack " and it is done. The secret is getting used to doing it. It is a real pain to do at first but, with time, it does get easier. Dad... Re: blood sugar tests So if you are on a job you stop the job and do this?
