Pathfinder International, a private voluntary non-profit organization working in

reproductive health, is recruiting for its TIGRIS project in Maharashtra. This

five-year HIV prevention project focuses on behaviour change communication and

treatment of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) in sex workers and their

clients.

Applications are invited for the following positions. All positions are based in

Pune. Good understanding of the socio-cultural background of Maharashtra,

fluency in Marathi, proficiency in verbal and written communication in English

and computer skills are essential

Project Officer-Community outreach: Responsible for monitoring and supporting

NGO partners to implement programs effectively; building capacity of NGO staff

through training; assisting NGOs in building linkages with other organizations

at district/state level.

Graduates in social sciences/ community medicine/social work, with 5 years

experience in management of community based HIV/AIDS programs is desirable.

Project Officer-Medical STI: Responsible for providing technical support,

mentoring and assistance to NGO supported Medical/STI clinics and providers;

identifying training needs, developing curriculum and implementing training

programs. Applicants should be a post-graduate in gynaecology /skin &

VD/community medicine with clinical experience in management of Sexually

Transmitted Infections (STIs).

Project Officer-Training: Responsible for providing support to the Community

Outreach and Medical/STI components of the project by organizing training for

NGO staff on a variety of issues including STI/HIV, Counseling, Peer Education

and PLA techniques. Candidates should have experience in conducting training

needs assessment, developing training modules and materials, training of

trainers and evaluating impact of training programs. Applicants should be

post-graduates in social work/social sciences/community health/human resources

development/training, preferably with 5 years experience in health and/or

HIV/AIDS training.

Administrative Assistant-Medical STI: Responsible for providing administrative

support to the Medical/STI team; should be able to idependently manage office

files, correspondence and routine office work of administrative and programmatic

nature. Applicants should be graduates in any discipline with excellent computer

skills. Experience in a similar position highly desirable.

Attractive salary comparable with that in similar organizations and negotiated

based on quality of past experience and salary history. Extensive travel within

Maharashtra required for all project officer positions.
