Guest guest
If anyone can give some feedback, I would sure appreciate it. My daughter had a high IgG test, but IgA negative. Saw the PediGI and he waffled on whether or not she could have celiac. Did the biopsy. He took one sample each from the distal esophagus, stomach, and proximal intestine. Visually, they all LOOKED fine. Got a call from the pedi's nurse today saying that the biopsy was negative for celiac, but that she has inflammation of her stomach (gastritis). She said that gastritis could account for the diarrhea/constipation, but not the elevated IgG. We are being told to follow a gastritis diet (we already DO these things), and give her Zantac for 2 weeks and see if it goes away. I'm not sure just what to think of this. This has probably been going on for a few years already and I had previously blown it off as " fussy child - I don't want to eat what you have made Mom " . Now I don't know what to think. Anyone else have similar experiences that actually DID turn out to be celiac? Or something else? Thanks for any and all insight.
