Considering that mercury is a transition metal and transition metals are

free radicals, I would interpert that the above statement leads one to

believe that lipoic acid (being a scavenger) does in fact aid in the removal

of mercury.

I don't want to beat a dead horse with this controversy on ALA, however, I

do want to ask that a question. If you beleive that it does not chelate,

than how do you explain the many children who are doing so well while being

chelated with it?
