Guest guest
I just wanted to comment on the Atarax question. I have been using Atarax since I was diagnosed with VV about 2 years ago. My doctor started me slowly on 10 mgs and I took the medicine about 8pm (after dinner) so I wouldn't have problems getting up in the morning. I would tell anyone regardless of what meds they are beginning if they have the opportunity to begin them on a Friday evening because you never know how your body is going to respond. One your body gets used to the 10mg your doctor can increase your dose. My doc had me take two 10 mgs tabs after a month and then about 3 months later go up to 25 mgs. I currently am not on the Atarax but I have it so when I do have a flare up I will take 10 mgs or even 20 mgs although I know it will wipe me out. To answer your other question Atarax does in fact help with anxiety in fact some doctors will prescribe Atarax for this although there are so many new drugs out that I don't find doctors using this drug for anxiety. The positive about the Atarax is the fact that it does help with the inflamation as well as help you relax which is why women have difficulty getting up in the morning. You can also go into the web search under meds and look up Atarax which describes the purpose of it's use and the different side effects. I hope this answers your questions.
