Dear Forum,

A news story published in Deccan Chronicle dated 02-11-2006 with the

heading kids get adult anti HIV dose in Guntur government General

hospital, Andhra Pradesh.

The Bill & Milinda Gates foundation funds the programme. Dr.Vasantha

Kumar,Professor of gynaecology prepared the report confirming this

episode.

Lack of training in paedriatic medicine and lack of experience in

addressing the HIV/AIDS medicine at paedriatic levels were the few

reasons mentioned in the report.

This episode is not sporadic, it is high time to organise the capacity

building trainings to doctors and para medical staff to scale up the

treatment to the needy children.
