Guest guest
I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but according to their site, there is no barley in it. What is brown rice syrup? It is a sweetener milled from brown rice only; no barley or barley malt is used. They also have an Allergy Matrix that lists which products have which allergans. http://www.soydelicious.com/diets/allergens.html -----Original Message-----From: pjs_21030 Sent: Friday, September 17, 2004 12:01 PMTo: SillyYaks Subject: Soy DeliciousHas anybody tried this? I had some last night, and all day today, I have had terrible symptoms. I feel like I did before starting the gluten free diet. Or anytime I've accidentally eaten gluten. It's like a ate a whole loaf of bread.I did some research and found that Soy Delicious has Brown Rice Syrup (at least the flavor I had...Chocolate Peanut Butter) Brown Rice Syrup can be made from Barley. Could that be the problem?Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks, paul
Guest guest
, It could even be just the soy. I've 'heard' from several Celiac's that soy can be one of the things that they can not tolerate after going GF. I am NOT a doctor, nor do I play one on t.v.! I am just a mother of a gluten intolerant child who has read and chatted with others in the same boat. Please feel free to challenge me or point me towards any research and information, I'm always searching! Guest guest
Yeah, I've heard that also. I've been eating soy products in other forms for weeks though. Oh well, I guess I'll have to keep experimenting. > , > > It could even be just the soy. Guest guest
Turtle Mountain has a gluten free FAQ. I have it in print, I don't know if it is available on their website. They have quite a few flavors that are " gluten free " , but they do not guarantee that the alcohol in their flavorings is not made from grain sources. If you react to grain alcohol, this could be the problem. The Organic Soy Delicious chocolate peanut butter flavor is supposed to be ok, but when my son tried it a couple of years ago, he got sick from it - i don't know why. We use the chocolate and vanilla without any trouble though. Debbie
