Guest guest
My DH and I started SB today. I packed salads for our lunches. DH just ate his (after skipping breakfast) and then someone at his office who is also doing SB told him that the Ranch Dressing he ate is not allowed. According to the paperback companion book, Ranch dressing is allowed in limited quantities, and reduced-fat Ranch dress ig is generally allowed. Is that for Phases 2 & 3 only, or is Ranch dressing allowed during phase 1? I have a vinaigrette dressing for my salad, so I know I'm ok. --Laurie
Guest guest
Just check the sugar content for that particular Ranch. The sugars must be less than 3g. And, I generally think that is true with Ranch. (the one I use has 1g, I believe) So, yes, Ranch is fine in Phase 1. Ranch is my dressing of choice! Ranch Dressing? > My DH and I started SB today. Guest guest
Just a thought, you can easily make your own ranch dressing. This way you know what went into it and feel good about it. 3/4 cup buttermilk 1/4 cup low-fat mayonnaise 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar 2 teaspoons of dried herbs, such as chives, tarragon, parsley, chives, oregano, etc. 1/2 to 1 teaspoon garlic powder or to taste 1/2 to 1 teaspoon onion powder or to taste Salt and pepper to taste In a bowl, whisk together all the ingredients -----Original Message-----From: stephi2377@...
