Guest guest
NACO Protocol for disclosing HIV test result in Blood Banks. Dear Forum, Re: The Quality of HIV testing in Blood Banks, the fact that the sensitivity of the rapid test kits should be 99 % and more once we use three different antigens or different methodologies is of paramount importance. There was a system of external quality control of these kits but with the rapid expansion of VCCTC , PPTCT etc I wonder how its been done nowadays. The other thing which bothers me is that the Blood banks now are supposed to inform the positive results to the clients. I wonder what are the exact mechanisms followed? Do they now counsel the individual before announcing his positive results?. The blood banks use to discard infected blood earlier and as per the new ruling they are supposed to inform the positive results ? Is it now being done by sending a post card? If somebody enlighten on the latest NACO protocol for disclosing HIV test result in Blood Banks, it will be appreciated very much.
