Guest guest
I have heard a lot of people saying they can't find any canned tomatoes that didn't have any added sugar. I was browsing in the grocery store tonight, and I noticed the store brand of canned tomatoes didn't have any added sugar, but a lot of the name brands do. Check out your store's brand of tomatoes and see if they aren't the same where you live. I have for the most part found that store brands of groceries are of equal quality to the name brands, so that's what I usually buy.
Guest guest
Also with tomato sauce, get the canned store brand that's with the tomatoes, not with spaghetti sauce, and spice it up yourself. Way less sugar and you can add what you want to it. midgetpdp@f...> wrote: > I have heard a lot of people saying they can't find any canned tomatoes > that didn't have any added sugar. Guest guest
I haven't checked the store brands yet, but I normally buy Del Monte diced tomatoes and Hunt's tomato sauce at Sam's Club in multi- packs. They are also available in most grocery stores where I live in Alabama. I checked the ingredients on both, and neither of them have sugar or any other ingredient ending in "ose". The nutrition information on the sauce says Sugars 2g, and the diced tomatoes indicates Sugars 4g. I think this is from the natural sugars in tomatoes.
