I'm not too sure how to describe what it is...maybe someone else here can help with that! What is Belgian Endive (or even Endive for that matter) * A type of lettuce kalamatta olives - can spanish or black be used ? *sorry no idea white beans - exactly what does this mean? *I *think* chick peas, black eyed peas (not totally sure if this is right) scallions shallots *both of these are onions mirin (book says- sweet sake) uh? *Rice wine vanilla bean stick *like a cinnamon stick...but vanilla broccoli rabe (book says- a healthy vegetable in the turnip family) *kind of like broccoli with leaves!
