Guest guest
· >Anyhow, I am VERY confused on how to calculate " good carbs " . I was wanting somthing sweet (the ricotta treat is ok, but I wanted chocolate) I was at the store on Friday. I was going to buy one of those " Low carb bars " . It said 29g of carbs on the back, but 2 total carbs was advertised on the front. Can anyone explain this to me? Also, the book says we can have beans in phase one. When I checked the cans, there is lots of carbs in the beans I strongly suggest you read the SBD book! SBD is not low carb, it’s low glycemic index. Eat ALL the carbs you want as long as they are GOOD carbs.

You can have lots of different things for snacks. You can have cheese, slices of meat, plain yogurt sweetened with Splenda and flavored with your favorite Italian Soda syrup (sugar free varieties), or any of the other allowed foods on the list. A favorite snack in our house is the wings off of the chicken I cook for dinner. No one likes them at the meal, but they are always munched on in the evening. > Anyhow, I am VERY confused on how to calculate " good carbs " . We just make sure we are eating the good ones - that is, the ones that come in whole, unprocessed foods. Vegetables have lots of carbs in them, but they are the good ones because we eat the whole vegetable, including the fiber. The exceptions are carrots, beets, and potatoes, especially in Phase 1. The low carb bars are not great because they are highly processed. > Also, the book says we can have beans in phase > one. When I checked the cans, there is lots of carbs in the beans.
