I took mega doses one time since the Dr. thought I may have a B2 dependency

disorder. My lip swelled until I thought it would burst so I had to take a

whole bottle of B complex in one day to help as I remembered you usually

should not take 1 single B vitamin alone as they work synergistically. When

you take just one you are unbalancing the others becuase they work together

in many places in the body and taking too much of one creates an increased

need for the others so they all can metabolize on thru. I actually had the

mental sensation by the end of the day of the total brain clearing and the

lip swelling went down and healed consequently. Of course, I could not keep

taking that hugh an amount of B complex on a regular basis.

I also have heard that a lack of riboflavin causes you not to dream.

Dear Cheri

I don't know about riboflavin and seizures, but it has been very

effective against my son's migraines, and apparently there are studies

which confirm its anti-migraine uses. Angus takes 200mg at night.

Hi,

It has been told to me that riboflavin helped someone with seizures. I was

wondering if anyone else on the list has had that experience. What

experience have others had with riboflavin, seizures aside.

thanks,

Cheri

Hi Cheri,

My daughter has seizures and is on riboflavin. But she is on the riboflavin

to control the headaches she has been having. She takes 400mg/day and we

have seen a definite reduction in the frequency of her headaches on this dose.

Alison does not have seizures very often. She is on tegretol and

phenobarbitol. She only has seizures when we try to adjust her medication.

We tried tapering the phenobarbitol a few months ago and one week after she

was off of it she started having seizures again and wouldn't stop so she

ended back on very low dose phenobarbitol as part of her seizure control

medication. I haven't heard anything about riboflavin and seizures, only

about it helping the migraines.
