FDDC wrote: Good morning! On behalf of the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council (FDDC), and our co-sponsors, I am pleased to invite you to the Developmental Disabilities Awareness Day, next Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at the Second Floor Rotunda of the Florida Capitol, in Tallahassee. This year's event is co-sponsored by the Florida Alliance for Assistive Services and Technology (FAAST) and the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD). The theme for this year is Learning Together, Growing Together, Living Together. Various exhibitors, whose booths will be located on the second floor rotunda of the Capitol, will help educate visitors about the challenges and opportunities before the disability community and also discuss and showcase services available to individuals with disabilities in Florida. As in past years, Developmental Disabilities Awareness Day is an appropriate time to recognize Florida's public policy accomplishments concerning the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities, as well as to identify the improvements that are needed to ensure that appropriate services are made available and accessible to all of our state's residents with developmental disabilities. There will be a press event at 1 pm on employment of people with developmental and other disabilities hosted by Lt. Governor Toni Jennings. This portion of the event is planned -- weather permitting -- for Waller Park, which is near the Dolphins on the Supreme Court side of the Capitol, and should last about a half hour. If you have any questions about Developmental Disabilities Awareness

Day, download the flyer or contact me or Ebony Page toll-free at , , or also toll-free TDD . Margaret Hooper Determann,
