Thank you Rhonda! Its good to meet you. I think I know what I need to know to get started tomorrow.

Breakfast ~ lean protien and vegetables

Lunch and dinner the same.... except with dinner I can have a salad with the lean meat and vegetable.

Snacks are string cheese, pastachios, celery with sugar free peanut butter? well, probably no peanut butter if I have pastachios that day. How about a V8? would that make a good snack? Would a serving of fat free milk be a good snack? Probably chttage cheese would be a good snack. (Im rambling )

How much cheese should I have a day?

Also I was looking for fat free and sugar free yogurt, but couldnt find any......

Is yogurt and fat free milk a part of Phase 1?

Thank you!

You can have a salad at breakfast and dinner if you, also.

Other good snacks would be celerywith Laughing Cow lite cheese, or turkey or ham roll-ups. (slice of turkey or ham with a dip or dressing, maybe peepers and green onions in the middle, rolled up in a lettuce leaf). V-8 alone is not enough - add some protein. Don't eat too much peanut butter.

All yogurt has sugar, from the milk. Look in the ingredient list for added sugar and avoid it. I use Dannon Plain fat Free and add Crystal Lite drink mixes to flavor it. (or sometimes I add Kool-Aid - sugar free of course!)

Skim milk and ff yogurt are now allowed on Ph 1.

Good luck!

Keep up with high-tech trends here at "Hook'd on Technology." Reminder: The South Beach Diet is not low-carb. Nor is it low-fat. Another snack I love: Guacamole & celery!

Though guac is touted as " bad " because it is loaded with fat, it is loaded

with good fats.

Guac is on the " other fats " list. All of the ingredients are on the OK list

(mostly spices, and is one of the few ways I can stomach tomato - I don't

like them or V8). I make it real spicy so the flavor doesn't get lost on the

celery. If you put a little salt in it, you get the salty you would miss

from the chips & the missing crunch comes back with the celery. (And celery

is good fiber.)

Got this from another list somewhere for Phase 1:

Avocado - 1/3 whole = 1 TBS oil

Guacamole - 1/2 cup = 1 TBS oil

1/2 cup is a lot! I usually just use 2 heaping spoons full & a bunch of

celery.
