I don't think they ever hang out as far as the leg but the tube/cord is

about 6 inches long and occasionally it would come out like a tampon string

and when I was " under " from my Sx, my Dr. told my dad and husband to tell me

to " push it back in " when it would come out. To be direct--I was scared to

have a b/m because after Sx a person is constipated, and I felt that if I

pushed to go to the bathroom--the balloon was coming out. Well it never

did--and I kept it in each time for 10 days. My Dr, perferred this to an

IUD, he thought an IUD caused more of an inflammatory response. But they

all have their own opinion.

Thanks for that. I'll try that when I get through the current phase

of comparing two OB/GYN/Re's at present. If I get to the stage of

looking at a long time to wait for an appt with an AS specialist,

I'll be phoning that secretary up! .

---Thanks for responding,, i had 4 surgeries thus far.. after the

first two, i got pregnant only to loose it at 19 weeks.. i could

never ever go through that again,, and it would not be fair to do

that to anothe baby in my opinion.. i wish i had more strength to go

on.. i am 35 and my husband if 40. for some reason after my

miscarrigae, the ashermans was worse than before when iwsa first

dx.... that broke my heart.. i believe this RE is good and said he

would do another surgery to see if it would get us closer.. but he

has to warn me that even if i get preg same thing could happen.. i

know i will hvae lining issues also! to go through a few more

surgeries try to fix linng and still maybe have a late mc.. gosh i

could not handle that!

Maybe after the surrogate becomes pregnant,, we will look into

another surgery for myself to see where it gets me.. after 5 years i

am at the point where i want a baby real soon.. not another year of

ups and downs of this ashermans stuff. i am trying to be realistic..

but yes will maybe try to fix my uterus after transfer of surrogate

and the dr was just being realistic with me which i am thankful for..

i am so sad at times,, but then happy that i have an answer and a

plan now. even though not the plan i had hoped for.. the tubes seemed

open and he was pleased with that,, but the cavity is extremly small

due to the scar tissue.. so maybe i will have another hsg down the

road a bit.. to see if it is the same or worse.. if worse . i will

throw in towel,, if same ,, maybe another surgery just to see what

it would do.

thanks for you r encourgement and i wish you all the luck !!!!!!!!!

i want everyone on this board to hvae their dreams come true. i get

so mad at this disease.. it is such a confusing one and it makes me

angry !!!!!

Love to you all, and good luck,, i will keep you all posted on

surrogacy stuff too.. maybe have an appt and meet her 1/8/01.. my RE

wants to meet her too.. he is gonig to be very helpful in this

journey i can tell...

Thanks so much Celeste for your encouraging words. I tend to obsess about

the negative aspects of everything with all of this--and it's refreshing to

hear something positive about my situation for once. My husband is so

optimistic also, I'm glad to have his support throughtout all of this(he's

been at every one of my Dr. appts).

Today I measured 5.2(day 12) and have 4 mature follicles. The plan is to

measure tomorrow and go ahead with the Hcg shot tomorrow evening. So by

that time, if my lining cont. to thicken at the same rate that it has(about

..7mm/day), I should be measuring around 6.1-6.3mm. That's just my estimate,

but it's not too far off from the " ideal " 7mm minimum lining that a Dr.

likes to see at ovulation. I'm a bit nervous about that shot though--the

needle is 1 1/2 inches long and alot thicker than the subcutaneous FSH

shots. Oh...the thickest portion of my uterus is at the top at the fundus.

I guess this is the best place for it to be building lining as that is where

an embryo would attach most " securly " .

Lots of worries though...we all will be paranoid when we get PG about the

chance of m/c. I guess we just have to take one worry at a time. I also

have this unrealistic(hopefully) fear that " what if I'm scarred up top where

the tubes are and the eggs can't enter my uterus? " My husband and Dr. think

this is unfounded since I was clear at the HSG and my lining on top is

building. I just think that AS gives you an emotional rollercoster ride all

throughout treatment and then ever afterwards...it's a hard thing to escape,

probably alot like cancer.

I don't know if this was ever discussed but, I (and my husband)have sort of

my own theory about AS. Maybe those that develop it already have a thin

lining and are predisposed to m/c and scarring. I certainly don't know what

my lining was upon initially trying to conceive and I'm sure most of our

group doesn't. But I can assume I had a thin lining. I was on the pill for

12 years--normal periods then due to hormone control. When I went off the

pill, it took me 4 months to ovulate. When I finally did get a period it

was one day of blood. The next month I was PG. Maybe I had a blighted

ovum/missed abortion because my uterus was too thin? Just a thought.

I'll post tomorrow with my last lining measurement before the BIG SHOT!

Blood goes up and out your tubes and gets re-absorbed in your abdomen. That

is why cramping can be more intense than you normally have had. Your cervix

is probably scarred shut(sorry to say). But maybe it's just at the cervix.

Yes it should be fixed, even if not ttc. Thats why insurance will(or

should) pay.

and only god knows how but my last pregnancy .. very early on they

did an u/s and my lining was at 4mm... i did not know it at the time,

Me too ! I posted a message for her on Sunday evening and still

haven't heard back. Did she leave for her trip to Arizona already? I

thought she wasn't going until this coming weekend....let's hope for

the best until we hear...

Hi Gwen. I do think she left for Arizona. I remember her writing

saying she wanted the second beta down before she left for her plane

flight. She probably didn't have time to let us know what's up

before heading out. Keeping my fingers crossed for her.

Cheryl left to Arizona on Monday. That is why she scheduled her betas earlier than they were originally scheduled, so she could have the results before telling their parents. So, I am sure that she left before she could respond to us....so we will have to wait until she returns.
