Guest guest
Hi all, I start SB the first week of November and lost 8 pounds. The holidays came and I managed to keep the 8 off though I ate junk often. Now I am back to business. I need to be accountable to somebody. My husband is the physical fitness king, so he doesn't have this problem. The people I work with at into Atkins and I don't go for that. Anyway, my goal is to lose 25 more pounds by June. I started working out by doing weights on a home gym every other day. I bought the new little SB book last week and am trying to stick with it.I read the first one several times. Today I had a boiled egg, 2 slices of whole wheat bread, and decaf sugar free cafe mocha. For lunch someone brought in treats but they were healthy. I had an apple, a small tangerine, triscuits with cheese and sausage. No one else was home tonight, so I made a bowl of oatmeal, threw in a couple raisins (they weren't totally forbidden in the new book) cinnamon, sliced almonds, SPlenda and fat free milk. It would appear that I don't eat veggies, but yesterday I had grilled chicken and a huge helping of broccoli with cheddar cheese.Same breakfast but with V8, fat free yogurt with SPlenda and grapes for lunch with a bowl of shredded wheat and fat free milk. I suppose I should mention that yesterday I ate a couple chocolate turtles, so that doesn't help. In your (anyone) opinion, am I doing this right? I am 6 feet tall and weigh 185, everyone thinks I look fine, so I would assume that it is going to be harder for me to take the weight off since I don't have as much to lose. I am uncomfortable, my pictures show a definite change in the past 10 years, and I have high triglycerides. Thanks for reading this. My next one will be shorter. Guest guest
I think you might be eating to many things from the bread and cereal group and not enough veggies. You should also make sure your cheese is low-fat or fat-free. I don't think triscuits and sausage are considered healthy but maybe I'm wrong. Guest guest
Yes-I checked the Triscuits label and they have partially hydrogenated oil. SO out they go. The cheese was Colby and that is a no no in the new book too! I had V8 for breakfast today. I need to get more salad stuff. Tonight we are having stir fry and that has lots of veggies. > > Hi all, I start SB the first week of November and lost 8 pounds. > The > > holidays came and I managed to keep the 8 off though I ate junk > > often. Guest guest
The hydrogenation is probably true for most name brand commercial crackers. I have not checked Carr's Whole Wheat recently but I think it is probably true of them as well, but I do not know. There might be some " health food " crackers that are acceptable or you could make your own. Chantelle Yes-I checked the Triscuits label and they have partially hydrogenated oil. SO out they go.
