Though I joined the list for my daughter I also work for the Epilepsy Foundation of NJ running a family support program. Part of my job is providing information & resources. I have already referred one family from another culture to the list. On the digest the headers appear first and repeated after each post -in this case (and often) 25 times. This makes them very important and impossible to ignore. I don't fault Nan at all & am adressing the group as I think this is a group issue. I think the header should be relevant to content of the list & Mother is " off topic " It should also be welcoming to all as I think we wish to be. A Mother folder is a great idea as so many on the list seem to like the quotes. Anything any individual wants to post about their own beliefs is also fine. Then we would see it once & relate it to that individual. Joan-Mom to -11 years old-epilepsy, adhd, autistic behaviors, mild cp, speech & learning problems, high functioning & sometimes charming.
