My cousin, Teri, found several lumps in her breast a few years back. Surgery was done and all was fine. Not cancer. More recently, she found lumps again, had signs or symptoms going along with it, as well as a swollen gland in her neck. She ignored it for awhile. When she saw her Doc, he refered her to a "specialist". Specialist was out of town on vacation and Teri would need to wait about a month to see her. Doc returned on August 21st, and Teri saw her. They discussed possibilities and options. There was a chance this could be something other than cancer. An infection was one possibility. Either way, this was large enough that surgery would be warranted. Teri asked to wait on surgery and get the testing going. Doc said no problem. Doc had also told Teri there was a three in five chance this was cancer. Teri saw the Doc yesterday, but I've not yet heard anything on that. She has a test scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday). Teri did have one test done last Wednesday and had already spoken with the Doc about that. They were "looking at one side", though did the test on both. The side they were looking at is benign tumors. On the other side is a malignant tumor. This is also the side where the swollen gland is found. We don't know anything else yet. Prayers sure would be appreciated. Teri is 38 and has five children. Two from birth and three were her husband, Tony's, from before they met. Guest guest Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 You you have my prayers. Or rather Teri does. My mother has had two lumps removed. Both negative for cancer thankfully. It is still scary to think it was possible. My heart goes out to your cousin. Tammy, TxSmyelin groovy wrote: My cousin, Teri, found several lumps in her breast a few years back. Guest guest Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 Hi Challis,…….BIG HUGS to you and your family. I will pray for healing for Teri, and whatever treatments she has will take care of it all. I have a really good friend who battled cancer all last year, and God performed a miracle in her life and cured her. It was nothing less than astonishing how the year unfolded, and with every update I got of her progress, how the tumor had shrunk, until it was gone. She is still clear 6 months post-op. Her type they need to scan her every 6 months to check for reoccurrence, I was always amazed at how the scans came back okay, because the type she had was stage 4, and no one expected she would survive it. She did, and she’s doing pretty good now. Love, Jackie From: MSersLife [mailto:MSersLife ] On Behalf Of Smyelin groovy Sent: Wednesday, September 06, 2006 2:17 PM To: MSersLife Subject: My cousin... Guest guest Posted September 7, 2006 Report Posted September 7, 2006 Thank you, nne. ) I don't believe Teri is online at the time, except email through work. However, I have kept you in mind and I will pass all of your support and offers of support on to Teri (or my Mother will... she talks to Teri sooner and more often than I do). Hopefully Teri will be in a place soon where she is ready to seek that support. Such things make such a difference. ) Hugs, Challis & nne Svihlik wrote: Challis, I am sorry to hear about your cousin. Her type they need to scan her every 6 months to check for reoccurrence, I was always amazed at how the scans came back okay, because the type she had was stage 4, and no one expected she would survive it. She did, and she’s doing pretty good now. Love, Jackie From: MSersLife [mailto:MSersLife ] On Behalf Of Smyelin groovySent: Wednesday, September 06, 2006 2:17 PMTo: MSersLifeSubject: My cousin... T! eri saw the Doc yesterday, but I've not yet heard anything on that.
