Guest guest
Hi, , I think doing what you're doing, getting a second opinion, is your best bet right now. Have you had a fever or bloating along with the pain? I would ask the new GYN if there's any possiblity you have an infection going on. What did your new doctor say after your first visit? Was anything recommended to you as far as living with IBS (which I also have, although not severe)? Sometimes an anti-spasmodic will help with cramping related to IBS. I understand your caution about taking other meds because of the meds you're on for the Bipolar Disorder. Can you check with the doctor who prescribes your Bipolar meds about any new meds that are suggested to you? You're kind of in a Catch-22 here, I think. Not treating the IBS or whatever other condition may be going on can leave you in pain, which in turn can increase the possiblity of sliding into a depression. Please let us know how you make out with your second GYN visit.
