Guest guest Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 Congratulations Mindy!!!! It takes a lot to sell at home parties or home sales. I used to sell Tupperware years ago. I know it's a lot of work and nerve wracking at the same time. I had a friend who also sold Tupperware. She had a party in the "high falutin" area of town and she was really, really nervous. She dressed up for the party and wore high heels. She was standing there giving her spiel and took a step back and one of her heels got stuck in the deep shag carpet (this was 1970 or so). She tried in vain to extricate her shoe without calling attention to her predicament. All the time she's trying to keep her mind on her sales presentation. LOLOL….. She was trying to make such a good impression because these were the "high class" part of our community. Finally she blurted out "Oh hell, I'm stuck in your damn carpet!" Everyone started laughing and things loosened up. From then on everyone had a great time and they bought a bundle of tupperware. I have a sign above my desk that says " She thought she could....So she did " . It's my constant reminder to not give in just yet. Although my husband attributes my motivational sign to mean " She thinks she should...so she does " because he thinks I always get my way. Ha..he is so right. I always figured that they would never get an answer about what happened. I had read all the books that were written after it happened. They certainly varied in theories. E. I heard today that his ex-wife said he was at home with her and their kids on that Christmas when Jon Benet was killed. I have felt so bad for the family.
