That is so funny Lyssa, I made Choc chip cookies with Conor on Thursday

too (he loves to cook, just like Mom). In my usual stupor, I had about

three licks of cookie dough (and I don't really LIKE it raw!!!) before

it occured to me that I was doing a very bad thing.

Well, unlike your experience, I didn't notice a thing. I was fine. And

I'm thinking that I'd have rather had something happen, you know? Ugh.

Live and learn, right? 'Bet you won't be doing that again, huh?

It was so good meeting for shopping/lunch. Let's do it again. I'm

going back to s this weekend for that $30 scrapbooking " kit " .

Something tells me it's not all I'll buy...

Ok I'm just venting but I feel so blechy! Must be pms or something I dunno

Lyssa

My son has acne, and has two creams, retin a and benzomycin. Both are very strong, you have to use them so sparingly or they will do more harm than good. It will make your skin much worse if you use too much. He also take antibiotic twice a day too. Just go easy on the creams.

Thanks Jo right now I have 2 creams myself a Differin (sp?) and Triaz. They are supposed to be fairly strong & use sparingly. I find though I have very fair skin and I tend to either a) burn or B) totally dry out. So my face (to me anyway) feels like a dry patchy thing with breakouts all over (lovely pic huh sorry) The last time I went she gave me some super duper moisturizers to use too ..

I'm hoping I can get on an antibiotic in April.

Thanks for the advice.

Lyssa,

Sorry to hear of your dilemma. Can I help? I can take a peak at it if

you'd like, may be able to fix the cut, but I'm a bit weak in the foil stage

of my life right now...haven't done that since about 5 years ago. What

color did you have foiled? Didn't you just go red? Let me know, I'll try

and help you if I can!

About the skin creams. Sometimes being fare skinned, you can't use the

strong medicated types of creams, or scented over the counter ones. I know

this from experience. I break out a lot too, find mostly around when I'm

due for my period, stress, or have too much water (yes TOO MUCH)...the more

water you drink, the more your body is producing natural oils which is good

for skin, but bad for acne. My recommendation would be to blot your face

with a tissue several times a day to help absorb some of the excess oils,

and don't touch your face with your hands. Have you noticed if this is more

recent since your hair colorings etc? I can't handle certain types of

colors, due to the types of chemical reactions I get. IMHO.

Keep motivating me babe! You're an inspiration to me and a LOT of people!

Love ya!

Dawn :)

BLECH

Ok I'm just venting but I feel so blechy! Must be pms or something I dunno

...

First off my skin has been breaking out so bad lately its horrifying. My

dermatologist has already given me strong acne creams to use and put me on

the pill (the one that is supposed to help the skin) all I can say is it

looks worse! She told me its quite possible toxins are releasing through the

skin due to hormonal shifts from the weight loss .. fine but when does it

go away? I called her back today to get an appt to see her as I want to go

on a prescription medication and try to battle it another way but the

earliest appt was April 4th or so. So I' have a month to wait .. maybe

things will clear up literally by then who knows.

Second. I had a bad haircut on Sat. Normally even bad ones don't bother me

but I really feel butchered this time as I had my hair cut very short and

unfortunately its not working out .. after spending $ 125 for a cut & foil I

called the hairdresser place back tonight & asked that I come back & have it

" fixed " . I also had foil color done and its not even on both sides of my

head.

The old me would have done nothing about it and just kept quiet for fear of

" embarrasing " my hairdresser. The new me doesn't mean it to be anything

personal. I've had the same hairdresser for a year and think she is great

but this time she was off .. and I want it fixed I can't afford that kind

of money and go around feeling like ^! & *%$#*( as a result. But of course

she is away on a course for 2 days so its Wed at the earliest till I can

get back in there if at all because my husband is going away on business and

unless he is around on Wed I can't go with my almost 2 yr old. ARGH!

Ok excuse me .. I just feel HORRIBLE .. I sure hope its a stage because

I've never felt butt uglier before in my life. Add to that I've lost 5 lbs

since January 1st I can't help but think this is it. Its over and I won't

hit goal. I should be happy with what I weigh and get over it but I'm not.

I need to work on it more and give myself more time but its just a jumble of

hormones and what not I guess going on right now and just ignore me ..

thanks for letting me vent.

Good morning everyone

I'm sorry for the pity party I threw myself last night ... I'm trying to

have a more positive attitude this morning and Im' sure somewhere inside its

partly hormonal .. or something! I was so blue last night I couldn't get

over it. Anyway its a beautiful sunny morning & my slate is clean. I'm going

to try to get through today and stick to my low carb plan and cut out the

junk I've been eating. I'll be carrying my water bottle around with me and I

do have an appt to go to the gym today. I will try to turn this around and

have a GREAT day..

Kim thanks for your kind words I know what you mean. My average loss since

Jan is 5 lbs and in between I went up & down about 2 lbs too. You're right

if we never lose again its much better than being as heavy as we were prior

to surgery and I must focus on that .. I am trying to get my hair fixed

tomorrow .. thank goodness and that should really perk me back up.

Sorry to be such a whiner!

Lyssa!

I'm sorry you are so blechy! I understand and can relate! The zit

thing.......me too! I got a different med yesterday from the doc, since the one

I've been using doesn't seem to be doing anything! We'll see. Hopefully

Wednesday will get here soon and you can get your hair fixed--it's hard when you

hate something about yourself, and it's right out in the open for everyone to

see, like a bad haircut or a HUGE zit right at the tip of your nose! LOL!

Lyssa.....losing 5 pounds since January, when you are so close to your goal, is

a GOOD THING! You are just so so close......as long as that scale is still

moving down, ever so slowly, I bet you'll get there. In contrast, I haven't

lost anything since before Christmas.....In fact, today when I got on the scale,

I was UP 2 pounds! That means, since Christmas, I have GAINED 2 pounds!

Yikes. I really truly might be done. I keep reminding myself that even if I

dont get to where I want to be, hovering around 160 is a heck of a lot better

than pushing 300 pounds!

Seriously, though, Lyssa......I hope that much of what you feel IS pms. The

hair can be fixed.....the weight-you look beautiful now! And even if no more

weight comes off...you ARE gorgeous! I hope you wake up on Tuesday feeling 100%

better. Keep me posted, ok?

Big hugs to you!~ love, kim

Hi there,

Sounds like you are having a hard time. I'm really sorry. Wish I had some

magic that could make everybody happy. Best I can do is make a lamp go on and

off when I clap my hands. Wonder if the world would be really boring if

everybody was happy all the time. Would the happy times be less happy because

there were no sad times to balance them?? Yikes... that sounds way too

philisophical ....

Oh well.. hopefully it will get better. I'm feeling depression creeping up

on me and I'm trying to fight it.

Take care,

I saw the Dr. at Brigham and Women's yesterday. The first time I

saw him was on December 29th and I was 306 on that scale. I had my surgery

on Feb. 3rd and at my first appointment on Feb. 14th I was 278. Yesterday,

March 6th I was 265. Amazing !!!!!!!!!!!! So that's 41 pounds in a little

over 4 weeks. So why am I so impatient????

I'm eating a full meal plan of solid food - have been since the 2nd week.

Was up and around and out shopping in a little over a week. In fact I went

to my company party on Feb. 16th. Met some of you at the Chili's party in

Feb.

Now if that were someone else I'd say they were doing great. But I can't

seem to see that it's really very fast and I should be happy!! I've been

throwing up some of my food but the doctor says that will pass with time. I

just always seem to expect so much more of myself. Need to step back and say

- give yourself a break kiddo.

I also need to let the preops out there know that recovery can be very fast

and to be encouraged. I also need to let myself know that I'm doing great!!

I'm just not a good patient. I'm a good caregiver, not the other way around.

Such is life. I'm going back to work next week so that may help to have a

more structured lifestyle again. I'll be complaining that I wish I was home

soon !!!!! The grass is always greener right????

I'd love to go bowling with you guys. So would my dh, Mike, if that's OK.

Take care and take heart,

Kathleen

You is my silly friend.. THANK GOD !!!!!

I'll be all cheered up in time to cheer you up in April !!!

I'm also blue cause I'm procrastinating on some stuff I have to do. Just

junk like working out a new bill paying system. They changed my payday from

once a month on the 15th to twice a month on the 15th and 30th. Every bill I

have is scheduled for payment on the 15th so I have to figure something out

to pay half and half. Just a pain that I need to organize. Need to get some

stuff done around the house too. I'm just ever so happy to lay around on the

couch watching junk TV or going out to the movies in the daytime. Need to

light a firecracker under me. Nothing horrendous.. just lack of ambition.

Talk to you soon,

Kathleen

This is just a suggestion, but I find that my daughters' and

moisturizer works wonders for my skin. My face is always dry and blotchy and

I was putting some on her and thought, hey why not. Come to find out it

works better than the $20 creams I've bought in the past....Just a suggestion

WOW is that normal? I figured solid food would not come for at least a few
