Guest guest
Hi , I didn't accept autism with my child, I fought it kicking and screaming! The only reson that happened is I met someone initially who had a child going through the same thing that had really done her homework and was seeing great results. She showed me there was hope, and we have done everything possible to help our child. You were not as fortunate to have information apparently- so I am so glad that you have joined this group!!! Welcome. I believe that Dr. Bradstreet is in florida, but I am not sure right now which part. If anyone else knows please post. I would definately get him started on a chealation protocol pronto! I know it must be hard to handle a big boy like that, but l hope you will give it a try. No one is going to take care of him like his parent. Have you ever done a behavior modification program, speech or occupational therapy? The gluten and casein free diet could give you some immediate relief of the agression and some other sypmtoms that you are seeing. If you would like more information on the diet or any other questions you can always e-mail me privately. Sincerely, Jane Weatherman weatherman6001@... Guest guest
Hi , Well, this is a good place to learn about merc poisoning and what to do about it. Here are a couple of starting points: 1. the FAQ for this list: /files/Mercury-Autism%20FAQ 2. get a hair test done on your son. This is a good way to tell whether mercury or other metals are a problem. If you have a cooperative doc handy, ask him/her to order a " toxic and essential elements test " through Doctors Data Inc (that's a lab). If you don't have a cooperative doc handy, use the info I'm including below (after my name at the end) to get one done through DDI. I'll mention briefly that a " normal " value for mercury on a hair test (or any other test people normally do, for that matter) does NOT indicate that the person is okay. Mercury is very well stored ( " hidden " ) in some body tissues (e.g. brain). So, after you get the DDI hair test done, you can use " the counting rules " to determine whether your son is likely merc toxic. (If what I just said does not make total sense, that is okay--- just keep reading. It will take a little while for you to get the hair test results, and in the meantime you can learn lots more.) /files/Counting%2BRules I am sorry I don't know how to do a brain dump to answer all of your questions at once. I will say, as a starting point, that the " treatment " for mercury poisoning is called " chelation " . Lots and lots of people on this list are doing chelation with their kids (and some of us on ourselves). " Chelation " will probably sound very confusing for some time, but really, it is not difficult. It is quite doable. It is very likely that doing chelation is something you will be able to arrange, once you know the results fromt he hair test, and learn more about chelation. Speaking very generally, chelation is done by taking/giving pills (supplements/drugs/chemicals/etc) which will " loosen up " mercury or " pull mercury out " . (I'm not trying to be techically acurate about how it happens, I'm trying to say something VERY general here.) This is done slowly, over a periods of weeks and months. Many of us on this list are doing this. There are 2 main " chelation agents " used by prople on this list, called ALA and DMSA. You will hear a lot more about this if you just keep reading. I hope this is some help. best, Moria [doing chelation on mySELF: I have no kids.] ABOUT HOW TO GET A HAIR TEST: ============================= Direct Laboratory Services http://directlab.com provides access to testing for professionals and consumers, and they will order tests for you. The way they do this is they have a doctor who requests the tests for you. They are following the normal procedures of the labs involved. They will charge you for this service (by marking up the prices of the tests). However, in some cases their prices will be lower, due to volume discounts and other pricing considerations they get from the labs. Expect them to be helpful, and to treat you as a customer. To order tests, call their Reno office at (877) 339-2444 or (775) 852-2170. The person to talk to is Bassett. Which types of tests you want run will determine what lab they run the tests through. They expect you to prepay, and will send the test kit(s) to your home. a urine toxic metals and essential elements test, processed through DDI, costs $149 a fecal test for heavy metals, through DDI, costs $139 a hair test, through DDI, costs $79. A list of many of the tests available, and prices, can be found at: http://healthchoice.net/lab/labtest_menu.html. " Healthchoice " incorporates several organizations, including DLS. (see http://healthchoice.net/aboutus/whoarewe.html). ============================================================ At 04:03 PM 8/18/2001 -0000, wrote: >Hi everybody. > My name is and am a single mom of a beautiful 10 year old Autistic boy, whom although has neer been tested for mercury poisioning, I believe this to be the cause for his Autism. > He was a healthy, talkative, social, loving baby. " I forget where he is in Florida, but he's worth the trip to get going on biomedical interventions, whether you ultimately follow his chelation schedule or not. www.gnd.org Also, once you've got a medical doctor advocating for your child, the goons tend to back off! Definitely try the gfcf diet - www.gfcfdiet.com Real pain in the okole at first, but some have dramatic results, including my son who started it when 9yo. We've been chelating for a year, with further improvements in all areas. Lastly, report your son's adverse reaction to the MMR thru VAERS. Hopefully, a listmate will chime in with an explanation of that process. Good luck & welcome.
Guest guest
, do you think got confused and meant to stab the pediatrician? I'm thinking that would be justified... Guest guest
- Hi kelly, I am new to the board. I just collected my first chemical challenge today. we also feel the MMR has allot to do with our sons illness. Dr. Bradstreet is an excellent Dr. and he has seen improvement with older children. Please do not blame yourself as we to got cohersed into giving shots. I did not listen to the " little' voice. We have had many " beliefs " about vaccines. Never once did I hear the other side in it's true light. We have done many treatments. For out son GFCF diet helped behaviour allot. Dig in and ask questions and I can attest that Dr. Bradstreet is an excellent start. He has all the tools and treatments to try with your son. He understands autism, , his son, has recovered I believe. I have faith if you chose to take action there is a good chance his behaviour will improve.
