Elaine, Got this on several of my loops today. Is it true??

Just received notice that the last line of the pledge has been changed by the Board of Directors to:"I will take off pounds sensibly" - instead of How foolish I have been

"......I will remember that even though I overeat in private my excess poundage is there for all the world to see I WILL TAKE OFF POUNDS SENSIBLY?" It just doesn't make sense! I hope this isn't true. The TOPS pledge is something that should NEVER be changed. It is 100% true.....we have been foolish when we overeat. We all know what to do and how to do it it's just doing it that's hard!

It would be alright except it doesn't go with.. "Even though I overeat in private my excess poundage is there for all the world to see.." To me that needs to be changed also if it is to be changed at all. Barbiemwdw@... wrote:

I joined in 1989 and I remember the WHAT A FOOL I'VE BEEN and I agree with you...it's better now. Just cause one is foolish doesn't mean they are a full. I do stupid stuff all the time but that doesn't mean I'm stupid! :)GEORGE

When I started back in 1986 the first time, the ending was slightly different.. "My excess poundage is there for all the world to see what a fool I've been." The way it is now is better than this older version. Barbie Jr wrote:
