Guest guest Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 Cardiomyopathy is enlargement of one or more ventracles of the heart. I went through my pregnancy with flying colors; however, after delivery I was readmitted with illnesses steming from enlargement of my lower left ventracle. Its a condition that is more likely to happen to women carrying multiples. THe amount of blood it takes to support several bodies is great and the rapid change and hormonal changes... blah, blah, blah. Anyway, I was kept off of hormonal birth control because it can aggrivate heart problems. I had remained stable for a few months so we thought it was worth a try to go back on the patch. No go, unfortunately, so its back to barriers until we make a surgical decision. I'm thinking hubby might get to have a little snip-snip. Not sure I'm up for any kind of surgery again.
