Guest guest
This is a perservative in some medications and contact lens solutions. It has been removed from some contact lens solutions because of allergic or irritation reactions seen in some users. It contains a compound with mercury ions as part of the molecule. The mercury is not in the dangerous metal form (the silver liquid we've all seen in blood pressure testing equipment). As with amalgams used for dental fillings, the mercury is stable and in a form in which the mercury cannot leach out and cause problems. There has never been any solid, scientifically proven damage caused by thimerosol, dental amalgams etc. There is no proof that these chemicals cause connective tissue diseases, autoimmune, behaviourval or diseases. In addition, there is no proof that vaccines cause these kinds of diseases, including autism. The latter is a disease that only starts to show itself around the 18 month to 2 year age. This may be why some people blame the 18 month vaccination. Aubrey
