My boys don't usually get ear infections, but I've heard if you warm

some olive oil with a clove of garlic and drop some in the infected

ear, it really helps. Then put a cotton ball in the ear so it

doesn't leak out. Maybe before your child goes to bed. That way he

is lying down and the oil can really stay in there. Do you think

this would be safe to use with tubes? My mom would do something

like this when I was little, whenever we had an earache, and it

definitely made it feel better.

We fill an eye dropper with hydrogen peroxide. I bend to the side so my ear

is parallel to the ceiling and literally fill my ear holding a folded paper

towel to catch any overflow, I usually stand there for a minute or 2, then

straighten up and let it spill out into the towel. I put about 1/2 a

dropperfull into my kids ears when they are sleeping and it doesn't seem to

bother them. My daughter will actually ask me to clean her ears with the

stuff that sounds like popcorn. "

We haven't had an ear infection now for about 3 years where my autistic son

had them every other month.

Hi

my son has an ear infection, as usual. Does anyone have any recommendations

other than using an antibiotic? He was prescribed Floxin Otic, which we have

used many times in the past.

He does have PE tubes in both ears. His right ear is draining right now.

I had bought some mullein/garlic drops a while back, but then learned that

you are not supposed to use them if they have tubes in the ear.

thanks

Hello,

How often do you " clean " your children's ears. Do you do it regularly or

only when they actually have an infection.

Thanks.
