Kenda,

You are absolutely right and Gretchen is munching on sugar, chocolate and french fries.. Her Dad did not tell her to do the diet.... Bless his heart he was so worried about his Daughter he probably forgot..... It is not the end of the world here, we all did the diet relapse....So we brush it off and start over.... Gretchen will be alright once she get's her diet in order and figures out what all is triggering these flare ups.. It takes longer than over night....

God Bless,

Absolutely Gretchen, relapses are part of the recovery process, but a

bad diet will do it every time.

Gretchen, It's happened to me any number of times . . . I couldn't do the simplest job right . . . Only then, I didn't know why I was getting so sick or confused . . We've all been there, done that. It takes a few times of falling down to figure out how to stand up. Now you have the support group and we can help you . . . But you must do your part! Just keep remembering how good you felt . . . because, when you get your diet and fungal issues straightened out, you're going to feel even better! This time you'll know how to stay that way! How long did it take the first time?

Probably that long, but if you blow the diet, you will be back to

square 1 again.

the 1st time i went to have kolb take out my capsules. after my

sezuire i felt crappy but my fog was pretty much gone. if i would have

done the diet while i was driving and shopping on my own im sure i

would be much better now. i was too foggy when i saw her to know she

thought it was important to me, my dad forgot to tell me, and i was

too ignorant to listen to you guys since i didnt think kolb thought it

was important to me. so 1 month off diet... i dont know how long this

will take to get rid of my fog. im so scared.

And all the stress you are putting on yourself is making the brain fog worse.

So, if you will focus on how you want to feel and

do what you know you need to do to get there, let

go of the stress, and let your body heal, you

will find that it works much better. You are way

to pre-occupied with the stress and not enough with how to get better.

I have a comment on this subject and relapses in general:

I adhere to a very clean, organic diet, no junk, very little meat. I've eaten this way most of my life. When I was sick with implants, and after explant, and continuing to this day, I have kept to this diet. Even so, I experienced many "relapses," the up-and-down cycle of illness and recovery, and still do, though to a much lesser degree. I cannot pinpoint these cycles to anything I ate, as I have eaten and still do eat the same diet.

That said, I do believe a good diet is key to healing. I just feel it is stretching it a bit to attribute Gretchen's or anyone's relapses to some french fries she ate or what have you. I think it is a good idea to eat as well as you can, and keep a journal of symptoms and food, if you want, but also to keep in mind that the body will have ups and downs, regardless of what we eat. We really don't know exactly what is causing the ups and downs of her symptoms. All the talk of the perils of going off the diet, or of fungus and mold may or may not even pertain to her symptoms. I think it can complicate things if we are too eager to diagnose one another's symptoms. That's just my take.

Gretchen,

There is no reason to be scared, none at all. The diet work wonders, in

conjunction with whatever antifungal Dr. Kolb has prescribed. As long as

you follow Dr. Kolb's directions, you will improve. The diet is imperative

if you want to get well. Many of us have been where you are now and are now

well because we follow a very healthy diet. For whatever reason, you have a

weakened immune system and you need to take care of it. If you do, it will

reward you with a healthy body.

Lynda, I agree with you 100% . . . Concentrating on how bad we feel only makes us feel worse . . . Concentrating on how good we WANT to feel helps us feel better! . . . If Gretchen will put her energy into thinking about the things that make her feel good, her body can begin healing. Right now, she sounds like she's stuck. Anyone, who can build their body to the competitive condition she was in, has the self-discipline to succeed at whatever they decide to do. She needs to reach down within herself and pull it out again. I believe she can do it. Rogene

I agree, Bindi, relapses are a part of getting better, although I do believe

there is generally a trigger to them, not necessarily food related. We may

not be aware of what the trigger is at the time. As far as diet goes, I was

under the impression that Dr. Kolb diagnosed mold/fungus because of the diet

and medications she has given Gretchen. If Gretchen does not follow a

strict diet, the fungus will not clear up and she will continue to live the

way she is now, spinning her wheels. I have no idea what is causing

Gretchen's ups and downs but I do know that mold left uncontrolled will take

over her body.

Rogene,

Yes, I believe she can do it and any of us can do

it. We just have to find it in ourselves to want

to do it. For me, being so sick made it

mandatory for me to do the detox. I would have been dead otherwise.

Let's all send positive energy to Gretchen and

our prayers and see if she can get motivated to do this and stay with it.

Her dad probably didn't realize the importance of the diet for Gretchen.

Most people who haven't had a mold illness don't understand. It definitely

is not the end of the world, we all fail and start over again. Hopefully

she will see how good she feels when she does follow the diet and decide to

stick with it. As bad as she feels now, there is always worse. If she

realizes that she can feel worse, she may decide to stick with the diet Dr.

Kolb prescribed for her. Fries, sugar and chocolate will not work in a

healthy diet.

My brain would be fried if I did french fries, sugar and

chocolate. Especially if I did them all in a week's time. After

many years I can do a small piece of dark chocolate once in a

while. I don't do french fries. Sugar is out.

Gretchen,

Of course you can reverse the damage. Believe in yourself and just do it.

I'm with you! Fries and sugar are not food, they aren't good for anyone,

ever. Dark chocolate is ok occasionally -- really dark chocolate.

Yes, you can reverse it all but you have to be consistent over the long

haul, not a day or two at a time. You also need to improve your attitude

toward healing. You are wasting precious energy feeling sad and scared.

There is nothing to feel sad or scared about, you need to look positively

toward your future. If you don't see yourself getting better, you won't.

Ok , what is it? I have had peripheral neuropathy for a long time now, and have many permanent numb spots .......if I could get rid of it, it would be awesome ! ! You know where a tag hits you on the back of your neck sometimes and makes it itch there?? Well, now I have a huge numb spot there, so when I get that itch sensation, when I go to scratch it, I dont feel me scratching, only the pressure, and so I never get my itch scratched ! ! I also have many numb areas on my feet and finger tips, it is really weird ! ! ......so, what is this deal that helps it?????

Hugs and Prayers...........HOPE !

DeDe,

I have the neuropathy issues to, but not as severe as you do....I think Dr. Kolb put me on something for it, I am sure she did... My right three toes go numb..... I don't remember what exactly she gave me for that issue... I will have to do some checking... I think when you get your implants removed, the issues regarding skin and numbness will cease a lot just from the removal.... Maybe others here have suggestions for neuropathy issues? I will check into the supplement given to me for the neuropathy.... I will pray you get these implants removed soon, I pray your heart is ok to do the surgery soon...

God Bless,

these pix of this pretty happy girl.. i know its gretchen but doesnt

feel like its me. please tell me this goes away with the fog. i need

that feeling back.. its hard right now... feels like im going thru pix

of a dead friend or something bec its hard to remember being that

happy or being that girl a few months ago when i feel so lost in the

world now.

Gretchen,

You need to quit trying to find out if your

symptoms are typical and just work on the diet and getting better.

Virtually every woman with symptoms had or has brain fog.
