Guest guest
Hi I've been considering making an appointment with the Pfeiffer Treatment Center for Zachary. Is there anyone on this list that could e-mail me privately and give me information about their treatment protocol and whether it would be possible to do an SCD legal version of it? Zachary is doing great on the diet but his metals testing came back very high and I want make sure I do everything I can for him. Thanks Zachary 4.4 ASD? Guest guest
, I haven't been there myself, but I know a couple of people who have. Their testing is pretty costly and from my understanding, if even already have lab results, they require you to run " their " tests, to the tune of over $1000. The supplements they prescribe are made at their pharmacy and are pretty costly as well. I know one mom in Indy got a local compounding pharmacy to make supplements for her in the same ratios as Pfeiffer wanted at a fraction of the cost. So, I guess if you have the money and the means to get the recommended supplements compounded some place else it wouldn't be impossible to do. Pfeiffer's program is long and is not really a method of chelation. If you want the metals out, then you will have to pursue chelation. Pfeiffer's protocol is supposed to help the body reset and be able to rid itself of toxins on its own. I guess I just haven't really heard of anyone where this has happened in a short amount of time. We had considered Pfeiffer and opted to get rid of the metals ASAP and then continue to work to support the body to work better on its own. I think Pfeiffer is one of those autism " things " that people love or they don't. Sort of like any other method (Sonrise, Floortime, etc). They all basically want the same thing, but the method is not the same at all. I am afraid I haven't really given you much help. There is a yahoo group for the Pfeiffer patients that you can join if you are considering using Pfeiffer or if you are already using Pfeiffer. You might get a lot of useful information from there that you could use to make a decision. If you are looking for a great DAN! doctor who supports the SCD, last I heard Dr. Kartzinel was taking new patients. (He is in Melbourne, FL in practice with Dr. Bradstreet and Dr. Wakefield). That's who we see and we just love him. He listens so carefully to everything parents say. He is just one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. Guest guest
chelation except for lead is a bit of a fiction. unfortunately pfeiffer seem to have lost their touch or something but they were really the only proponents of the most viable method of heavy metals removal, thats is displacement of bad minerals by good. however its not diffcult or expensive to put together your own minerals displacement program and works well with scd. > , > > I haven't been there myself, but I know a couple of people who have. > Their testing is pretty costly and from my understanding, if even > already have lab results, they require you to run " their " tests, to > the tune of over $1000. > The supplements they prescribe are made at their pharmacy and are > pretty costly as well. > I know one mom in Indy got a local compounding pharmacy to make > supplements for her in the same ratios as Pfeiffer wanted at a > fraction of the cost. > So, I guess if you have the money and the means to get the recommended > supplements compounded some place else it wouldn't be impossible to do. > Pfeiffer's program is long and is not really a method of chelation. > If you want the metals out, then you will have to pursue chelation. > Pfeiffer's protocol is supposed to help the body reset and be able to > rid itself of toxins on its own. > I guess I just haven't really heard of anyone where this has happened > in a short amount of time. > We had considered Pfeiffer and opted to get rid of the metals ASAP and > then continue to work to support the body to work better on its own. > I think Pfeiffer is one of those autism " things " that people love or > they don't.
