Guest guest
I did see that one.. It was (great?).. I've experienced this a little, because I've played Drs against each other to save my son's life [one Dr said he was severely anemic, give him 3 x the RDA of iron...I went to another Dr, said I was concerned he might be anemic, could she check? He was fine, but both Drs were furious when they found out what I'd done??? Then the Dr put him on ventolin for supposed asthma, he could barely breathe...until a mistake was made in the hospital, he missed his meds, and I chose not to continue them because he was better without. Guest guest
One of the mavens on About Thyroid advises folks not to have records sent directly from one doc to another. She has them sent to her, so that she can censor what they see and don't see. Another lady advises folks to white out all reference to the previous doctor, so that they cannot call and compare notes.topper2@... wrote: I did see that one.. It was (great?).. Guest guest
I LIKE that idea, well, both ideas.. I'm gonna keep that in mind if I ever start seeing docs again. Guest guest
Or even because of the previous doctor's "social status", the new doctor might not dare "go against the grain", i.e., don't want his/her position and attitude t'wd the patient prejudiced by any outside influence. Guest guest
And it depends on your situation. I was involved in an auto accident last year. My regular Drs office does not accept car insurance. So I had to go to another Drs office for awhile. So I get copies of all my blood tests and MRI results and make certain all my Drs have copies. (But I only give them test results. Not the clinical notes.) And they all thank me saying it's easier if the patient provides the copies than trying to get a copy from another Drs office. If you are on good terms give your Drs copies. If not think about what you do beforehand. Louise > I did see that one.. It was (great?)..
