The carrot chips can be really great and come out crunchy, but you need to

cook them for a long time. They should start to become brown, like bacon.

HI ,

Please see http://www.pecanbread.com/recipes.html . Under " Vegetables " look for

the carrot chips recipe. This includes some tips and photo of carrot chips.

So, has anyone had luck making home-made chips? Out of what, carrots? Mom

tried some last night and they didn't turn out too well, still very limp.

We deep fry the carrots & squash for chips. What I found to be key was to use

a vegetable peeler to make thin strips out of the veggies, drop them in the

hot oil and pull them out once they get good and brown, then drain them on a

paper towel & sprinkle with salt.

They are really yummy and my kids eat them up!

Perhaps not, but we've never had a problem with them this way & when you are

desperate for your child to eat vegetables in any form, this is often an

attractive option for them.

I'm not sure if they will be in BTVC latest edition, but that is where I

originally got the recipe.
