Remember, everyone in the US.. it's now your legal right to get copies of your labs. Some doc/clinics will charge a 'copy fee' but you have the right to a copy.

Please, don't settle for just a phone call and the words 'labs are normal'.

Serena,

Don't give up, be firm. You NEED a copy of the labs or, at the very least, the lab numbers and the lab's ranges. You need to know where you stand and find out the cause for your goiter..

I wouldn't start medicating until you find out what's causing your symptoms. Medicating could make you feel better now, but will skew the tests and make it much harder in the long run.

If the doc is not willing to do the proper testing.. how is your financial situation? You can order your own labs through Health Check USA ( www.healthcheckusa.com ) for everything you need for under $200 and slap those in his face and give him an "I told you so!" One test, VIP Profile Plus covers the thyroid tests and a bunch of other stuff.. and the other one, I've just learned about, but forgot the name, covers the antibody tests.

Sometimes you have to take things into your own hands to get better care.

If you can't afford to have the labs done on your own, and he won't take care of you properly.. it may be time to find another doc, one that will be willing to work with you to get this stuff taken care of.

Hey all,

I called my doc's office today and they said my tsh level was fine. They didn't give me a number. I asked if I could speak to the doc anyway and the woman kept repeating that my tsh level was good. I said "well I got a huge lump on my thyroid and I feel that I didn't ask him enough questions". She replied that she would see if he could call me. No call of course. I have an ultrasound on Aug. 5th but the doc didn't make an app. to see me again until 3 months from now. So I feel like i'm having symptoms of hypothyroidism and that adrenal stuff sounds familiar (lol). So what do I do for now? Sit here and let it get worse? Do ya'll think I should buy a supplement from a store for now or wait until the doc tests more? I don't know what to do, but I sure know that something is not right in my body. Please help!

See a new doctor, get a TSH and a Free T3 and Free T4, and antibodies.
