Hi ,

His name is Lucas (!) and he's started singing in this high

pitched sqeaky voice whenever he is not directly engaged in

conversation, when he talks in a normal voice. He is vocally

stimming- repeating stuff to himself over and over. Also he has

had a lot of congestion in his throat- it sounds like he has a cold

or infection, but it doesn't hurt and it comes and goes.

He is having a lot of trouble going to sleep- used to be 8-9 PM,

now is 9:30-11 pm. Also his drawing and writing have regressed

a lot . It looks like the work of a much younger child. He is more

argumentative and isn't listening as well.

So those of you who stuck it out- it is worth it?

Thanks,

Cyndi

Cyndi~ So weird - Luke's name is really Lucas! These behaviors you describe

don't sound fun at all, and I have to admit I am nervous about this whole idea

of it getting worse before it gets better. I will pray for you and Lucas and

for us, too, that we will be wise and know what is best, and have the endurance

to stick it out if that is what is right!

And FYI, I know this is confusing, but my name is - you are not the

first one to refer to me as . I think it must show up as being from

" " ?? That is my husband's name and our yahoo account is in his name, must

be why. Anyway, not your fault, just thought I'd correct. Maybe I can set up

my own account to correct this?

Cyndi - are you using a lot of almonds? Just wondering if Lucas has ever had a

problem with foods high in phenols/salicylates. Luke is very sensitive to these

chemicals and almonds are HIGH, as is honey. I hope to " cure " this sensitivity

through the SCD. In the meantime, I intend to stick with pecan flour since

pecans are low, and not sure what to use as a sweetener but going to avoid honey

until I am brave enough to try it on him. Again, good luck!!!!!!

Cyndi,

In order to help you, I need to know more about the situation.

How did you start the diet?

What is he eating now? And in what quantities.

Are you feeding him things that previously bothered him?
