Guest guest
Kenzie eat tons of pork rinds...part of our problem. He fills up on them. They are a great crunchy snack. We used the baked ones from Frito Lay. Penny Pork rinds???? Hi group, I'm sensing that my daughter's whining for crackers isn't all about gluten. I think she may want something crunchy. Were does one get fried pork rinds? Purchase? Make them (I wouldn't have a clue----such a Yankee!!!)? --Lissy (autoimmune arthritis) Tessa (5.5 years, ASD, seizures) SCD since Dec 26. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guest guest
This is just my opinion...... and I've given it before, but really, pork rinds should not be considered a nutritious food. They may be " legal " , technically........ but if your child is eating a lot of them, they are filling up on pure fat calories and getting very little else. The crunch and the salt will be satisfying..... and the fat and calories they take in will make them NOT hungry for other, more nutritious foods. Guest guest
hmmmm. . .I'm going to consider this carefully. It might be best not to even introduce something that might become a problem. I was thinking they might be a wasy to coax in less desired foods or with smashed up avacado " dip " . --Lissy Re: Pork rinds???? Kenzie eat tons of pork rinds...part of our problem. Guest guest
That's true..... if you insist that they dip them first..... you may be able to get really creative with the dip ingredients. All things in moderation, though. I think the kids that are just eating " tons " of pork rinds, right out of the bag, probably need to have them turn into a once-in-a-while treat.
