Guest guest
I thought alcohol was a GOOD thing. It is often used with homeopathic remedies. Angie? Please explain. Guest guest
Hey Jacquie, My naturopathic dr says it is normally not a problem but with these kids it is better to burn the alcohol out. Angie
Guest guest
You should have no problem with leaving out the tequila. I lived in Mexico for 6 years and I don't know of anyone would serve tequila in pico de gallo for kids. It's not actually in the standard recipe either (altho I have to say, I'd probably enjoy this version more.) The standard version in Mexico is just chopped fresh tomatoes, onions, chiles, cilantro and lime juice (some folks add garlic too). The " Pico " or " bite " is referring to the spiciness, and the " Gallo " or " rooster " refers to the bird on the Mexican tri-color flag--which has the same colors as the dish (red, white and green). Throughout the patriotic month of September people eat red, white and green dishes, and Pico de Gallo is very popular then (as well as year round with many). By the way Carol, I haven't tried out the recipe, but it looks like it would taste very authentic. ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand!
