Guest guest
Where is the best place to order pecan flour? I'm going to try taking my son off nut flour for several days at least, and then will try the pecan flour first. He still is having some bad gas (though vastly reduced from before the diet), as well as some difficult behavior at school and difficulty concentrating. His stools are formed (as they have been for years) but they are sort of light brown and smooth, with specks in them that could be undigested nuts. He has been on the diet for 5 weeks or so, but we just started the intro the day after Christmas, so maybe he needs more time before nut flours? I just would like some confirmation that I'm reading these signals correctly. I rarely get to see my son's poops, as he is 11 now, but the toilet happened to be stopped up last night! He is eating meats and fish, a little fruit and honey, a little yogurt hidden in the gelatin squares, and whatever veggies I can hide in his food, in addtion to the nut flours and nut butters. In fact, when I have a free moment I will write about hiding the veggies, because my son will not touch them alone but I have been pretty successful in getting him to eat some good quantities of carrots, green beans, zucchini, and butternut squash. Thanks,
Guest guest
, It's hard to tell...... the only way to find out is to pull one or the other and see how he is after a few days.... or a week, maybe? Just don't make more than one change at a time or you'll never know which it was. Each child is different but since you're only 5 weeks along...... I'd say it's really hard to know. Yes, I guess adding cheese (or any dairy) is normally done a bit later..... and many kids need to wait many weeks before being able to handle nut flour. You might want to try grinding your own pecans so you can give that a try....... that way you don't have to mail order ($$$)...... use a coffee grinder and freeze the pecans first. Patti, mom to Katera, SCD 9 months pecan flour In my previous post, I forgot that my son is also eating legal goat cheese. I suppose it's possible his difficulty is tolerating that rather than the nut flours? The reason I added both the cheese and nut flours fairly quickly is that they help disguise the veggies in various ways, otherwise he's limited to meat and fruit, and I was trying not to give huge amounts of fruit either. Guest guest
" In my previous post, I forgot that my son is also eating legal goat cheese. " , Just to be sure, why don't you post the ingredients on the cheese you have been giving him. A couple of moms used cheese they thought was legal, but later realized that it was not. This may not be the problem, but let's find out to be sure. Jody mom to -5.1 and -7.
