Guest guest
Debi, What yogurt starter are you using? Jody mom to -5.1 and -7.
Guest guest
The Yogourmet starter has skim milk powder in it. Some people who are very sensitive to cow's milk products cannot tolerate the Yogourmet starter. You can get a yogurt starter with no skim milk powder in it from Custom Probiotics. http://www.customprobiotics.com Jody mom to -5.1 and -7.
Guest guest
" If I could have goats yogurt it would really help me out! What formula? " Custom Probiotics only sells one type of yogurt starter as far as I know. You can buy half the amount that is listed on the website. Have you tried eating goat cheese? Can you tolerate that? Guest guest
> So how do I get my probiotics in? > > Debi > Nut yoghurt: 200 grams of blanched whole hazelnuts or almonds or a mix of both 1 litre of tepid water 3 tablespoons of real honey yoghurt maker good blender put nuts & water in blender, add honey. Spin at highest speed for at least 4 minutes. Pour 'milk' through sieve in yoghurt container, add yoghurt starter (CustomProbiotics) and press/squeeze last drops out by hand (do not throw away residue, keep for cookies etc). Mix gently for about 2 minutes in container. Ferment for at least 8 hours. Cool for at least 5 hours. Drip through towel for at least 1/2 hour, depending on how thick you want it. Lactose, casein free, no 24-h fermentation needed, nice yoghurt taste, benefits of probiotics. Guest guest
Marjan's recipe for almond/hazelnut yogurt can be found on Pecanbread.com and so can Erja's cashew nut yogurt recipe. Jody mom to -5.1 and -7.
