Hi I know that many on the list will be far more help than me since

we've only been on the diet a few nonths.. but I did notice you

mentioend lettuce and watercress.. I am not sure how nursing plays

into this and if you need to be strictly SCD or not.. I'm sure

someone can answer that for you though if there is any doubt. But I

did notice that the things you nentioned are not recommended at the

beginning of the diet and that might be causing some of the

problems.. Have you tried applesauce or pearsauce cooked?? Or green

beans perhaps?? Or ripe bananas?? Just wondering and trying to think

of something that might help you. And btw.. you are right on the

green diarrhea.. we had it for a long time but for us it was die

off.. and he had some other symptoms too that were not much fun at

the same time.

Take care and I'm sure that someone on the list will have more

answers for you.

Have a blessed week!

Have you seen a gastroenterologist? your son may need some meds to help him

feel better. my son is on zantac for esophogitis and reflux and is doing

better. Also, Dr Krigsman told us that sometimes he puts kids on an elemental

liquid

formula for a while to help them heal. You may want to look into it.

Thank you

He reacts badly to any fruit, tried the pearsauce....diarrhoea, in

the past he has reacted badly to green beans also. I've been trying

to eat foods which he hasn't reacted to before...these are in my

diet...his is still chicken, turkey and breastmilk. The squashes etc

are all out fo us. My logic has been that if I can eat foods with

low carbohydrates for a week or two he might have time to heal a bit

and then introduce say asparagus (which he could eat previously)

slowly into his diet. All storage vegetables are a problem for him

(in addition to red meat, eggs, fish, nuts). As I mentioned I did

try the carrots but the reality is most of the things in level intro

and 1 he can't tolerate even me eating.

Thank you

I've seen two gastroenterologists who did not inspire any confidence

in me. They simply ignored the fact that he reacts to various foods

and are keen for me to keep feeding them to him despite this and put

him on Zantac and steroids. I am afraid that this will mask his

symptoms and they are the only way I have of knowing that which foods

he is reacting to. I'm not sure what elemental liquid formula

is...but he is allergic to dairy, soya, corn and coconut which of

course all formula milks contain one or more of.

I have great hope for SCD but am struggling to find the answers to my

supplement questions so far.

I'm very pleased that your son is improving....it is hard not to

sleep isn't it.
