Guest guest
Deborah - Zachary went from having chronic loose stools and/or constipation to trophies within a day or so of beginning Thropps enzymes and he's still having them. It's been 1 1/2 months. Zachary 4.3 ASD? SCD 3 months
Guest guest
Do you think the Thropps enzymes could help correct loose stools too? Debora

Guest guest
Hi, As with all supplements, not only enzymes, it is best to start slowly to get the body used to that particular supplement--to build tolerance. Sometimes giving the presctibed/suggested dose could be too much to begin with, so if you start with 1/4-1/2 of the suggested dose and increase it slowly over the next few days/weeks, your child's body may be better able to assimilate it. For example, I just started my son on enzymes, Digest Gold (SCD Compliant), and instead of giving the 1 cap with every meal dose, I started with 1/4 cap and increased to 1/2 cap with every major meal--and I started these on Dec. 12th and continue at the 1/2 cap dose since he's doing well. In about 10 days I may try 1 cap per major meal, but we seem to be getting great results at the dosage he is at now. In the past, we had tried Kirkman's Enzyme Complete (2 separate trials 1.4 years ago and then about 6 months ago) and he could not tolerate these at all! Made him super-hyper (normally, he is not hyper at all) and stimmy. Everyone is different, so you have to try and adjust as needed--and ultimately remove and possibly try a different formula if there are signs of intolerance.
